Skills!
Well you know I can edit videos, but what other post-production skills do I have?
I’m glad you asked!
While working at Pegula Sports and Entertainment, I rose up to become the editorial team’s go-to for color correction needs.
I was given the opportunity of working as the colorist for the Buffalo Bills behind-the-scenes series Buffalo Bills: Embedded. With a short time frame, I was able to fully color correct the entire 4-episode, 90-minute second season in just over a week.
In addition to that series for the Bills, I have also done heavy color correction and grading on projects for the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bandits, Canisius College along with basic color correction that is applied to every project I touch in Premiere.
Impactful visuals.
Enhancing footage with color correction and color grading ties a video that may otherwise feel disjointed.
In the example to the right, after doing an initial color correction pass to ensure a good starting point, I graded the footage heavily to play up on the dark blue and yellow colors of Canisius’ hockey team. This allows the final product to feel like a cohesive project despite the fact that it’s using high-quality footage from an art shoot mixed with lower-quality footage from a hockey broadcast.
Can you hear that?
Sound design is typically one of those things that you don’t notice until it’s not there and you can’t figure out why the piece you’re watching doesn’t feel quite right.
Over the past four years, I have honed my sound design skills to bring my edits to life. Not only that, but this past year, I was given the opportunity to create the sound design for all Buffalo Bills preseason television assets.
